Promoting dialogue

Friendship North/South promotes dialogue between people from local communities in Norway and in the South through community linking. Community linking is a direct, long-term, mutual contact and exchange of experiences between two equal communities in Norway and the South.

The culture exchange programme

The cultural Exchange Programme in Friendship North/South supports culture activities between the friendship links. The aim is to give an opportunity to linked groups to work together in arranging cultural activities that will strengthen their cultural experience in the South as well as in Norway.

The ELIMU School Exchange Programme

ELIMU is a thematically based school exchange programme between upper secondary schools in Norway and similar schools in developing countries. Through ELIMU, schools are given an opportunity to visit each other and share cultural and educational experiences. Linked schools in the ELIMU school exchange programme choose a theme upon which they base their partnership.

The Youth Exchange Programme Spor

SPOR is an exchange programme for young people between the ages of 18 and 25. The programme is particularly adapted to youth with no previous organisational experience, preferably those with a vocational background. Friendship North/South hosts this programme in collaboration with Fredskorpset

Events

Friendship North/South Arranges seminars, workshop and conferences for its members in Norway and in the South. These events give our members an opportunity to meet, exchange and share ideas and experiences. It is also an opportunity for members to increase their knowledge of community linking and global issues.
